Event : 20th anniversary of the Schengen Agreement


On 2 June 2005, a commemoration will take place in Schengen (Luxembourg) to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the signing of the Schengen Agreement.

The commemoration will be held in the presence of TRH the Grand Duke and the Grand Duchess. Under the presidency of the Luxembourg Minister for Justice, Luc Frieden, and the Luxembourg Minister Delegate for Foreign Affairs and Immigration, Nicolas Schmit, the members of the Justice and Home Affairs Council, the European Commissioner in charge of Justice, Freedom and Security, Franco Frattini, and the President of the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs of the European Parliament, Jean-Marie Cavada, will also attend the commemoration.

The media representatives are invited to take part in the event which will be held in the evening of 2 June 2005.
