Event : Official visit of the Secretary of State of the United States of America, to Luxembourg, and Ministerial Meeting EU-USA

Condoleezza Rice, Secretary of State of the United States of America, will be in Luxembourg on 9 and 10 February 2005.  She will meet with Prime minister and current President of the European Council, Jean-Claude Juncker in the evening of Wednesday 9 February 2005.

On Thursday 11 February 2005, she will meet with Jean Asselborn, Foreign Minister and current President of the Council of the European Union. This meeting will be followed by a meeting with the European troika on a ministerial level. This meeting should also be attended by the High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy of the European Union, Javier Solana, as well as the Commissioner responsible for External Relations and the European Neighbourhood Policy, Benita Ferrero-Waldner.

Media representatives are required to apply online for accreditation before Sunday 6 February 2005, 8 pm.

Attention: Please note that there will be no last-minute accreditation procedure. No request for accreditation will be accepted after 6 February 2005.

The media programme of the visit will be published on Tuesday 8 February 2005.

The press conference (Jean Asselborn, Condoleezza Rice, Javier Solana, Benita Ferrero-Waldner) will be held Thursday 10 February 2005 at midday.
