The "JHA" Council updates the action plan on terrorism

On 3 June 2005, the Ministers of the "Justice and Home Affairs" Council took stock of the implementation of the action plan on terrorism.

With assistance from the EU Counter terrorism Co-ordinator, Gijs de Vries, the Luxembourg Presidency updated the version of the action plan on combating terrorism submitted to the European Council of December 2004.

During his press conference, Luc Frieden, Luxembourg’s Minister for Justice and current President of the Council, stated that the EU institutions, and agencies and organizations such as Europol or the Situation Centre (SitCen), have correctly implemented the measures in the action plan. Speaking on this issue, Luc Frieden said that "the European Union must continue to stress its prevention actions since progress in cooperation among the Member States has made it possible to avoid new terrorist attacks."
