The Prime Minister, Jean-Claude Juncker, in his capacity as current President of the European Council met a delegation of the European Jewish Congress in Brussels on 2 May.
Various issues were discussed, such as the problem of anti-Semitism in Europe and the necessity of concrete actions against all forms of racism and xenophobia.
In this context, some ideas were were discussed. Relations between Europe and Israel were also on the agenda. Jean-Claude Jucker called for a favourable evolution in Israeli-Palestinian dialogue and emphasized the active role the EU plays in the Middle East.
