On Saturday 30 April 2005, the Council of the European Union, in collaboration with the other European institutions, will organise an 'Open Day' in Brussels to commemorate the Schuman Declaration. The main theme of the 2005 edition of the event will be the European Constitution.
The 'Open Day' will take place in the 'Juste Lipse' building in Brussels, between 10.00 and 17.30. Anybody interested may attend this event, which includes the showing of a film and a guided tour of the premises.
The Luxembourg Presidency of the Council of the European Union will be in attendance at this 'Open Day' and will have a pavilion situated at the main entry to the building.
The film 'Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg' will be shown there on an ongoing basis and will allow the public to discover Luxembourg in eight parts, through an historic overview of the country, its role in Europe and the world, the country’s financial markets, the Luxembourg economy, education and research, its culture, life style and tourism.
An Internet terminal will provide the opportunity to learn more on the website of the Luxembourg Presidency, accessible at www.eu2005.lu.
In addition, the Presidency will make various publications on Luxembourg available to those interested.
