Fernand Boden, Minister for Agriculture, Viticulture and Rural Development and current President of the "Agriculture and Fisheries" Council, and Octavie Modert, Secretary of State for Agriculture, Viticulture and Rural Development, met Joe Borg, responsible for Fisheries at the European Commission, in Luxembourg on 14 April 2005.
During the meeting, a number of issues were discussed, including the evaluation of work on two particularly important dossiers: the Community Fisheries Fund and technical measures in the Mediterranean. Fernand Boden and Joe Borg focused on coordinating the steps to be undertaken to further work on these two dossiers. Views were also exchanged on the work to be carried out during the second phase of the Luxembourg Presidency, particularly with regard to recovery plans and fisheries resource management.
