Jean Asselborn, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Immigration and current President of the Council of the European Union, will today pay an official visit to the Republic of Slovenia. Slovenia currently holds the annual rotating presidency of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).
During his visit, the President of the Council will meet with President Janez Drnovšek, Prime Minister Janez Janša, Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel and the Chairman of the National Assembly Franci Cukjati.
The discussions will focus on cooperation between the European Union and the OSCE, current events in the Western Balkans, the ratification of the Treaty establishing a Constitution for Europe and EU enlargement.
