The Luxembourg Presidency of the Council of the European Union has decided to innovate regarding curtesy presents, which, on the occasion of a European Council are customarily being offered to the membres of the different official delegations, as well as to the media representatives.

Thus, on the occasion of the European Council of 16 and 17 June 2005, the Luxembourg government has decided to contribute, instead and in place of the curtesy presents, an equivalent donation to the fight against AIDS led by the UN (www.unaids.org).
