The Minister for Cooperation and Humanitarian Action, Jean-Louis Schiltz, will represent the European Union at the Donors’ Conference for Sudan in Oslo on 11 and 12 April 2005.
The conference will focus on the implementation of the global peace agreement signed between the Sudanese Government and representatives from South Sudan in January 2005.
The Ministers will also deal with the difficult situation in Darfur.
Particular attention will be paid to the respect for human rights and the conditions that must be created to enable the retunr of refugees and displaced persons within Sudan.
