The Prime Minister, current President of the "Economic and Financial Affairs" Council and the President of the Eurogroup will attend the meeting of the Ministers of Finance of the G7 in London on 4 and 5 February 2005.
Outside of the G7 meetings, Jean-Claude Juncker will meet with the American Secretary of the Treasury John Snow and the Director General of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Rodrigo de Rato.
The G7 discussions will essentially focus on the global economic situation, economic perspectives in the major European, American and Asian monetary zones and on the new momentum to be imparted to development cooperation.
The G7 brings together the seven most industrialised countries in the world: Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States of America. The UK currently holds the rotating presidency. European (Council, Commission, ECB) and international (IMF, World Bank) institutions are regularly invited to participate in the discussions.
