On the eve of the Luxembourg Presidency of the Council of the European Union, Prime Minister Jean-Claude Juncker will host the Council’s current President, Jan Peter Balkenende, on Friday, 31 December 2004, for a meeting at the Château de Senningen.
The two heads of government will begin by sharing information on the natural disaster in Southeast Asia in order to coordinate the assistance efforts already under way, as well as future courses of action by the European Union as a result of this tsunami. They will also discuss the different aspects of the Presidency of the European Union.
